		<description>I completely agree, Duane, and this is a small annoyance about Follett for those who like a purer representation of history. Follett is no slouch in this area, though! He is a meticulous researcher and he is only exercising his novelist&#039;s imagination in such instances. I have enormous respect for his work in these two books, but they&#039;re not all to my liking.

However my main concern is that Follet imbues the characters of Merthin and Caris with a 19th century world view into the 14th century.  At times it felt as if Follet&#039;s modern agnosticism was projected into the mouth of Caris.</description>
